Riders in the Sky Concert was Fantastic

 by Jenny Chissus

Tonight we had a great concert right here in Seldovia with the Grammy Award winning quartet – Riders in the Sky!  Besides the colorful and very flashy outfits and witty dialogue, these gentlemen were a solid hit as they were smooth, professional and tons of fun!  The room was crowded with folks from infants to seniors – and everyone had a fantastic time!  This was not their first trip to Seldovia, the group came here 27 years ago – and they remembered us – even after all their fame and fortune with Grammys and Disney movies!

It was a true pleasure to spend the evening in the presence of such great musicians and accomplished performers – recognized in the industry!  This was a real treat for Seldovia!  Thanks for coming guys!  I just grabbed these impromptu “hellos” from the group at the end of the concert – they were such great sports!   Enjoy a fun and informal “howdy”!

Thanks to the Seldovia Arts Council for bringing these boys to town!

Thanks ahead of time for making this one heck of an evening to remember!!

Riders In the Sky’s Return to Seldovia

It is time to look forward to another great Seldovia Arts Council Event:  Riders in the Sky.  This is Seldovia’s chance to get out for some humor and fun “The Cowboy Way”.

This group is fondly returning to the stage in Seldovia after over more than thirty years of traveling and becoming internationally known stars.  They have won two Emmys, been featured in Disney’s “Toy Story” and performed in all the United States and many other countries.

It is hard to believe, but it is true that after all that, they remember Seldovia!  Let’s put on our western attire and come out in droves  to welcome them back.  Read more about them at www.seldoviaartscouncil.wordpress.com.

Join us on September 26 at 7:30 PM up at the Susan B. English School Commons.  This will be a fun family event!!!  $35 per family, $15 adult (single)  $8.00 child (single)

Thanks,
